A doctor may prescribe you a cream or steroids. Another alternative is laser hair removal. A treatment can cost $300. But, some insurance will cover the expenses.
A brittle nail usually means fungus. The nail bed is the perfect environment for fungus. It may sound disgusting, but it is the truth. In this case, you nail may start to crumble or split. A doctor can prescribe you medications. But, it is recommended to protect your nails from moisture. So, when you do dishes, wear gloves. When nails are brittle on both hands, it can be because of overzealous hand washing. Keratin, found in certain vitamins can improve the health of your nails.
A scaly red patch might mean psoriasis. This is an autoimmune disorder. It may occur at any age and it is linked to the inflammation through your body. A common symptom are lesions, usually on the elbows, scalp and knees. Severe and moderate psoriasis has been linked to cardiovascular disease. But, it is easily treatable.
